Background and Challenges
Transport Focus faced the imminent changes in the national rail infrastructure, necessitating a revaluation of their organisation to ensure it was fit for purpose. With a stable leadership for nearly 25 years, the organisation needed to address workforce and succession planning to adapt to the new landscape effectively.
Their focus on representing passenger voices within a politically neutral space presented challenges due to uncertainties in passenger champion roles, rising costs, and declining public transport infrastructure.
Trueman Change Involvement
Trueman Change played a crucial role in guiding Transport Focus through the transformation process. Together, our team orchestrated culture mapping workshops, away day facilitation, challenge groups, and individual sessions to support the co-production efforts with the leadership team and staff.
Our team thoroughly enjoyed working with Transport Focus and as a result we successfully implemented a new senior leadership team and management structure, developed a co-produced work plan, and delivered critical outputs and outcomes.
The slow pace of change was a challenge, but the project team worked within reasonable parameters to effect change and challenge existing ways of working. The organisation’s approach and willingness to change was a breath of fresh air and our involvement has cemented an excellent relationship with our client.
