Culture plays a significant role in whether change lands well, but it is not always easy to know when your culture needs attention.
In this video, Lucy Trueman, Managing Director of Trueman Change and Organisational Psychologist, shares three clues that your culture may need to change.
The first is when a major change or transformation programme is underway, but it is not landing as expected. This can be a sign that the organisation’s culture is not yet ready for the change being introduced.
The second is when an organisation is preparing to significantly change the way it operates. Whether the aim is to become more empowered, more resident-focused or more collaborative, cultural change may need to sit alongside operational change.
The third is low morale. Organisational culture is closely linked to staff satisfaction, engagement and commitment, so when an organisation feels flat, it may be a sign that something within the culture needs to shift.
Lucy explains that culture is not “magic fairy dust”. It can be understood, shaped and changed with the right insight and approach.
