Commitment to achieving Net Zero
Trueman Change is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050
Baseline Emissions Footprint
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured
Baseline Year: 2024
Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations.
This is the first year of Carbon Reduction reporting for Trueman Change, we have recorded our baseline emissions using data from January 2024 to December 2024 and have used these figures for our current reporting as well as baseline. We have used carbon reporting websites and specialised online calculators to reach our reported baseline figures.
As a fully remote and online business, we do not have any direct emissions (Scope 1) or indirect energy emissions from purchased electricity, heating, or cooling (Scope 2). Specifically:
- Scope 1: We do not own or operate vehicles, buildings, or other combustion-based equipment.
- Scope 2: Our business operations do not include rented office spaces or facilities. Instead, our team operates remotely, and energy usage related to remote work is included within our Scope 3 emissions
By focusing on Scope 3, we are prioritising emissions sources that are relevant and material to our business operations, ensuring accurate and meaningful reporting.

Emissions reduction targets
In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.
- To reduce our commuting vehicle mileage, opting for rail travel where possible.
- To opt for virtual meetings where possible.
- Ensure employees are following our Carbon Reduction Policy when working from home.
We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 4.44 tCO2e by 2030. This is a reduction of 30%
Carbon Reduction Projects
Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives
The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed or implemented since the 2024 baseline. The carbon emission reduction achieved by these schemes will result in a reduction against the 2024 baseline when we complete our next Carbon Reduction reporting, and the measures will be in effect when performing the contract
We have introduced a Carbon Reduction Policy to our employee handbook, providing practical guidelines to help employees reduce their carbon footprint while working from home. In the future we hope to implement further measures such as:
Collaborating with a third-party company to offset our business’s carbon footprint. While our current working practices already result in a low carbon footprint, we are committed to further reducing our environmental impact. One option we are exploring is offsetting through initiatives like tree planting. It is widely accepted that a single tree can sequester approximately one tonne of carbon over its 40-year lifespan.
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and associated guidance and reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans.
Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the GHG Reporting Protocol corporate standard and uses the appropriate Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting .
Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been reported in accordance with SECR requirements, and the required subset of Scope 3 emissions have been reported in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard.
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors (or equivalent management body).
